INPowerment guide, Live INPowered

Garland McWatters’ quest is to help individuals unleash their creative energy to live INPowered lives.

He is author of leadership course entitled Creating an INPowering Workplace. Garland writes and presents other workshops, that he calls INPowerment labs, under his Live INPowered brand.

Garland hosts two podcasts, the Spirit of Leading and INPowering Thoughts, and he writes a regular leadership column for iON Oklahoma Magazine.

He has been a familiar face in the NextGen Under 30 movement since 2015. He has organized and presented statewide and regional leadership workshops, and in August 2020 he produced and co-hosted the first statewide virtual NextGen Oklahoma Leaders conference.

Before starting his private practice in 1994, Garland had a 15-year career in Oklahoma’s renowned career technology education system that included management positions at the Francis Tuttle and MetroTech Technology Centers.

Garland completed a Master of Science degree in mass communication from the Oklahoma State University. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts.

Garland has been involved in numerous civic, professional, and community organizations. The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) honored Garland in 1991 with a regional Distinguished Achievement Award. Garland also has been active in politics. He was the Democrat party nominee in 2000 for the Oklahoma 5th congressional district.
