This quote has fueled MeShawn in her work in diversity, inclusion, and equity for nearly 20 years.
Originally from Tulsa Oklahoma, and a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, MeShawn came to Edmond, Oklahoma to attend the University of Central Oklahoma where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication and a master’s degree in Adult Education.
Upon graduating with her bachelor’s degree, MeShawn started her career at the University of Central Oklahoma. She served as the director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion for over 13 years. In this role she contributed to creating an environment that embraced and celebrated diversity and inclusion and then moved to serve the Office of Inclusive Community where she planned, led and implemented, in collaboration with university partners, institutional initiatives and campus practices to advance inclusion, diversity.
Mostly recently she accepted a role at CSS IG where she serves as the Inclusion and Belonging Consultant. When MeShawn is not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with her family including 20-month-old daughter.
